Dear Wood Dale School District 7 Families and Community Members:
Students entering kindergarten in the Fall of 2017, will have the opportunity to enroll in a Spanish/English dual language program. Any child who turns 5 before September 1, 2017 will be eligible to take part in this exciting new program. Dual language students will become bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural in Spanish and English. The philosophy of the dual language program is to provide cross cultural experiences for students and to prepare them for a global society. To find out more click here. Sign up your child now by completing the consent form below and mail it to, or drop it off at, the Wood Dale 7 District Office at 543 N. Wood Dale Road, Wood Dale, IL 60191. If more families show interest than enrollment allows, then a waiting list will be established.
As a school community, we are working hard to provide meaningful learning experiences for our students. Our goal is to work with students to educate and nurture them to become productive citizens. Part of this process includes developing a curriculum that actively engages students in a meaningful and authentic way. Curriculum is aligned to the Illinois Learning Standards and is taught through integrated units of study that incorporate the Social Emotional Learning Standards and the World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment (WIDA) Standards. We strive to provide students with the materials and resources to experience learning authentically and to share and learn from others from around the world. As part of the learning process, our kindergarten through second grade students are issued iPads and third through eighth grade students are issued Chromebooks. These devices are a natural part of the learning process during the school day and then taken home by students to extend the learning day. In addition, all of our students use Google Apps for Education.
It is my pleasure to serve as the Curriculum Director. Feel free to contact me at any time.
