We would like to introduce to you, Otus, an educational technology product that is a one-stop shop for parents, students, and teachers. While Wood Dale 7 was an early adopter of Otus, many schools in neighboring communities have also adopted this platform.
Otus’s online platform is a teaching and learning tool that allows teachers, students, families, and school leaders to see student progress and resources in one place. Otus allows all authorized family members to access assignments, assessments, learning resources, behavior, and assessment results without having to access multiple systems.
District 7 has a 3-year implementation plan to fully integrate to the Otus platform. The transition began last school year and the final integration feature will be the conversion of our student progress reports. In 2020-21, we will no longer send home paper copies of the progress reports. With this being said, it is important that you create an account now and begin to familiarize yourself with the Otus system. By creating an account, you will be able to communicate with your child’s teacher, see your child’s assessment results, and do various other tasks in real time using one common system. Please remember that it will take everyone time, including the teachers, to learn how to use the Otus system. Even though we have implementation goals for each school year for the next 2 years, everyone will be using the system a little differently and at their own pace throughout a school year.
Additionally, a free mobile app is available for both Apple and Android devices. The app should be downloaded after you create your account. If you should need technical assistance, Otus has direct support once you are logged in or you can contact the school office.
