WESTVIEW STUDENTS PRESENT AT THE STUDENTS' INVOLVED WITH TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE
On Saturday, February 9th, eight 5th graders along with Mrs. Acord attended the 3rd Annual SIT (Students Involved with Technology) Conference in Bensenville at Blackhawk Jr. High.
During the weeks preceding the conference, these students worked in groups during their recess time to prepare presentations related to technology. Both of their sessions focused on coding and its importance in our world today. The students used robots and other materials that are part of the Westview MakerSpace to offer hands-on experiences during their presentations. Their audiences were highly engaged during the sessions!
Their audiences were made up of students from surrounding area schools who like them, have a strong interest in technology. We heard many positive comments regarding how well prepared our students were and how well they interacted with their audiences. Mrs. Acord was very proud of their efforts and how well they represented Westview School.
