REMEMBERING MRS. PERRY

The District 7 school community experienced a great loss this week.  After battling cancer for 2 and a half years, longtime teacher, Mrs. Christine Perry, passed away.

Mrs. Perry was a District 7 teacher for the past 27 years. She taught 1st and 3rd grades for the majority of her career and most recently served as the Art teacher for Oakbrook and Westview.  Mrs. Perry was beloved by her students, their families, and her colleagues.  She was known for her infectious laugh, generous spirit, and her genuine love of all students.  Mrs. Perry was an animated teacher who would often dress up in costumes or use funny voices as part of her instruction.  She was generous with her time and would often be seen attending school and community events involving her students.  Mrs. Perry continuously sought out ways to improve teaching and learning in District 7 and served on numerous school/district committees.  Mrs. Perry will be greatly missed but her spirit will live on in all the students and staff members who came in contact with her.
